Adapter - part number A-109
Male Thread : 12mm-1.5 Female Thread(Fitting Valve) : 12mm-1.5(EZ-109)
Some oil pans are designed with a recessed drain hole which may prevent the valve from being installed properly. If the valve can not be tightened all the way without hitting the oil pan wall, do not install the Drain Valve to your vehicle. Adapters are available for some models.
A-109 Required For:
BMW | '81&on engines with recessed oil pan plug |
*Not recommended for low clearance vehicle.

If anybody is installing the Ez-109 valve on a Bmw x5 this a most buy because of the retracted drain plug (hole) configuration. Also recomend buying the 90 degree elbow to be used a hose to drain straigh to any container.

I needed the adapter because of the engine overhang on my generator which would not allow me to turn/attach the EZ-109 drain valve to the drain port. This was an easy installation and no issues. A very solid fitting.

I used this on my the generator in my trailer. It works great as the plug was mounted over the main beam. Now I can change the oil in a flash with no mess.

I have a new Onan generator I installed in my fifth wheel trailer. These new generators only hold 1.6 quarts of oil and don't have a filter. The drain plug is under a shield, so I needed this adapter to clear the shield. Unfortunately the base of the adapter is larger that the valve and the mounting surface of the oil drain pan! When I tried to tighten the adapter the threaded base snapped off! So, I'm back to square one! Not a happy camper!

Big fan of these valves and have put them on my cars and power equipment. I need this adapter to try to fit a valve on a motorcycle that, by definition, offers limited access. Casting ribs on the crankcase cover prevent the valve from being fitted directly. I am still not sure if after installing the adapter I will have room to install the valve, leading to my withholding of a star. What might be needed is a swing angle fitting, and it wouldn't be the first time that I adapted a plumbing fitting to fit one of your valves.
