I have a 2013 motorhome with an International MaxxForce 10 engine. Oil capacity is 30 quarts! On my 2d oil change, I installed this. The first time I jockeyed 3 pans with max capacity 15 quarts and spilled 2-4 quarts. The second time I used a large rectangular mortar mixing pan. I spilled 2-4 quarts as it flexed while pouring into containers for disposal (with funnel).
I can't vouch for durability, but this will allow me to drain small amounts directly into a (heat resistant) disposal container.
I have 2 plugs in my oilpan. I ordered by measurement, and was CALLED by oildrainvalve.net to confirm (yes, a real person) before shipment. This was because the spec called for a different size for my engine.
Instructions said to hand-tighten and wrench tighten an additional 1/8 turn. I lubed the o-ring (not in instruction), and was able to loosen by hand. On my own responsibility, I wrench-tightened in small increments till I was unable to hand-loosen, and then tightened 1/8 turn. I estimate that the torque is less than the 40 ft-lbs specification.
The lever must be lifted to open against a spring, and I will either use the recommended clamp or a solid-copper insulated wire to additionally lock.
It will be awhile before I actually use this the valve, unless I take a sample for analysis(I previously did this with aquarium tubing through the dipstick tube). No leaks so far, and I have a lot of respect for the product and customer service oildrainvalve.net provides.
